River to River Greenway Tunnel
This 100-foot mural collaboration was completed in 2022 and is located on the River to River Greenway Trail in West St. Paul, MN. You can find the mural between Garlough Elementary School and Dodge Nature Center, under Charlton Street. The photos below focus on the south side of the tunnel, on which I was the lead painter, as well as some action shots of the collaboration.
This project was a team effort with artist and expert muralist Megan Moore. We teamed up to learn from each other's expertise. She brought her experience working on outdoor murals and painting on a large scale. I led the community engagement and teaching elements of the project. This included working with all kindergarten through 4th-grade students at the school on drawing, concept development, and painting. Dakota County Parks commissioned the project in collaboration with Garlough Elementary School, Dodge Nature Center, and the Dakota County Public Art Citizen Advisory Committee. The project won a National Association of Counties Achievement Award in 2023.
